(1) Focus on the face itself with no eye-catching background, no creative clothing and no busy neckwear.

(2) Use your pictures as a marketing tool, not as an artistic expression.

(3) Smile (twinkle!) with your eyes looking directly to the camera. Look at the person who will be looking at your photograph.

(4) The shot should be you. Usually it is best to ask someone to select the best shot of 'you'. Choose a full-face, natural looking shot.

5) Your name and your Agent should be printed on the front of the headshot. Some UK agents do not like this, insist - associate your face with your name.

6) To avoid clutter, put all other information on your CV/Resume.

7) It must be a current photograph which accurately represents you and your personality. You will always be changing, so remember to have new photographs taken - about every two years is about right. A new Agent will normally recommend that you have new photographs taken and might recommend a few photographers.

7) Remember to also detail your web site address (url)
